The Inspectorate Unit is one of the bridges connecting the Authority with the service providers and one of the strongest tools when it comes to communicating with service users and their relatives. This unit conducts daily visits and routinely inspects services to make sure that they are up to the required standards and enforces the remedial actions issued by the Authority.

Visits from the Inspectorate Unit’s Assessors vary in their nature and can be categorized under the following sections:

  • Monitoring Visits: These are scheduled visits to ensure the quality of the service being provided. The visits can be both announced and unannounced to the service providers.

  • Licensing Visits: These visits are held with the sole aim of ensuring that the service is operating in line with the requirements of the Social Regulatory Standards. Decisions regarding the granting and renewal of licences are made on the basis of these visits.

  • Feedback Visits: The scope of these visits is to investigate feedback received from service users and/or members of the public, regarding a social welfare service. These reports are investigated and all necessary action taken by the Authority.
